macOSmacOS 1.0.12 (Build 12)
AndroidAndroid 0.0.12 (Build 12)
This update focuses on black screens after resource import, map and audio detection, AI players stopping on multiplayer maps, touch-input conflicts, and mobile layout defects. It also completes production limits, automatic harvesting, control-group replacement, force fire, tank bunker and naval-yard repair rules while continuing to align the NUKE HOUR brand, versions, and cross-platform compatibility model.
Each platform now increments its product version independently. Multiplayer compatibility is determined by a shared core-rules and protocol identifier rather than the visible application version. The current identifier is:
Fixed AI players no longer continuing to build, develop, and attack when a single-player skirmish uses a multiplayer map.
Fixed some or all AI players stopping when one human faces several computers, such as a 1-versus-5 match, because controller information had become invalid.
Fixed incorrect AI-controller ownership in remote rooms and multiplayer modes.
Invalid AI controllers are corrected before player creation while valid remote controllers are preserved, preventing duplicate AI execution and uncontrolled AI players.
Automatic harvesting
Every unit configured as a harvester resumes harvesting when idle.
Harvesters search nearby ore first, then the closest reachable ore elsewhere on the map.
Players no longer need to repeatedly assign ore targets by hand.
Control-group replacement and expansion
Units already assigned to one control group can be reassigned to another number.
Selecting old members together with new units and pressing the group number again replaces the group with the complete current selection.
Double-press group focusing and desktop modifier-key habits remain available.
Force fire
Fixed Force Fire clearing the selected military units before the command could take effect.
Disabled touch buttons now consume the tap instead of passing it through to the battlefield.
Construction and defense queue limits
Buildings and defenses can be queued only once; repeated taps no longer accumulate copies.
×5 batch production does not apply to buildings or defenses.
Infantry, vehicles, and naval units retain continuous and batch production.
Tank bunker and naval-yard repairs
Fixed standard tanks being unable to enter tank bunkers.
Fixed ships being unable to enter naval yards for repair.
Naval yards from all three factions can repair their corresponding naval units.
Fog display option
Added an “Explored-area fog” option to graphics settings.
Turning it off removes only the light fog layer above explored areas; it does not reveal unexplored terrain or change actual vision and rules.
The setting applies immediately.
iOS / iPadOS highlights
Resource import and startup stability
Fixed TestFlight installations reporting that the game could not start, showing a black screen, or showing only the background after resource import.
Fixed relaunches where music and button sounds played but the menu remained invisible.
The engine starts only after the native import interface has fully closed, preventing the native window from covering the game or intercepting touches.
Restored explicit startup-failure messaging and diagnostic paths instead of leaving an unresponsive background.
Relaxed import recognition to try reading by filename first and report a problem only when the file is unreadable or genuinely absent.
Maps, audio, and complete-folder import
Fixed incorrect “audio not imported” and “maps not imported” states after successful import.
Fixed the map selector seeing only launcher-provided maps and ignoring user-imported maps.
The importer discovers required resources and maps in a complete, legally owned game directory.
The runtime map index is rebuilt after import so new maps appear in the skirmish selector.
Project-owned playable base maps remain in public builds so startup and basic validation work without retail maps.
Public IPA without official retail assets
The public IPA contains no official retail maps, audio, artwork, mod data, or other copyrighted game files.
NUKE HOUR's own interface, brand assets, startup backgrounds, compatibility rules, and program code remain in the package.
After installation, users import their own legally owned game files; imported content stays in the app data directory and is not preinstalled in the IPA.
The build continues to audit the public-content manifest to prevent accidental packaging of retail files.
Import, license, and credits screens
Redesigned the import screen for readable type, spacing, and button sizes on landscape iPhone and iPad displays.
Enlarged the license dialog to fix its narrow, hard-to-read layout.
Renamed the former Retry button to Credits.
Added an adaptive supporter honor wall: two-column cards on iPad and a single-column scrolling layout on iPhone, using the NUKE HOUR dark military visual language.
Current public credits include OpenRA Contributors, OpenRA RA2 Mod Contributors, and the NUKE HOUR TestFlight Community. Individual supporters are listed only with permission.
Main menu and settings
Removed the meaningless Exit button on iOS and redistributed the remaining buttons' height, spacing, and touch targets.
Removed the duplicate Content Management entry.
The language control now cycles through System, 中文, and English with one tap instead of using a drop-down or redundant follow-system label.
Removed unnecessary internal dividers and increased spacing between the menu frame and buttons.
Fixed About causing the app to quit or fail to start.
Removed Performance Graphs, Community News, Check for Updates, and Developer entries and their modules from advanced settings.
Standardized the official site as nukehour.com.
Skirmish menu
Removed handicap and ready controls from skirmish setup.
Limited color selection to nine classic colors displayed as a 3-by-3 swatch grid, without color codes or arbitrary palettes.
Rebalanced name, color, faction, team, and spawn columns; names receive more room while spawn is narrowed to a single letter.
Adjusted the options-to-map ratio to roughly two thirds for settings and one third for map preview.
Fixed layout fallbacks restoring old handicap controls, custom colors, and incorrect column widths.
Construction bar, command bar, and touch icons
The construction bar scales with each iPhone or iPad and fills the available height on the right side.
Fixed alignment of its top buttons, power control, production pages, and bottom up/down controls.
Fixed the unavailable-item mask failing to scale with the enlarged bar and appearing as a black square inside icons.
Standardized command-icon frames, internal color, and visual style while removing repeated text captions.
Enlarged the command bar and hit areas for finger-sized targets.
Loads consistent faction-specific touch assets instead of mixing unusually small icons with the rest.
Virtual joystick and multi-touch
The virtual joystick captures only the finger operating it.
One finger can move the view while another selects units and issues move or attack commands.
A second finger used while the joystick is active is no longer misread as pinch zoom, two-finger pan, or a right-click gesture.
macOS updates
Fixed truncated language text in the launcher's lower-left corner.
Fixed the right-side content area not filling the window and exposing a wallpaper border.
Preserved the PublicClean import and return flow: cancel returns to the launcher, while successful import can continue into the game.
Synchronized shared AI, harvesting, groups, force-fire, production-limit, repair, and fog fixes.
The macOS version now increments independently from iOS and Android release cadence.
Android updates
Synchronized controller correction and multiplayer-map AI development and attack fixes.
Synchronized automatic nearest-reachable ore search, group replacement, force fire, building queue limits, tank bunkers, naval-yard repair, and the fog option.
The Android product version increments independently while retaining the same core multiplayer compatibility identifier as iOS and macOS.
iOS-specific import UI, construction-bar sizing, and UIKit dialog changes are not applied to Android, avoiding regressions to the existing Android layout.
Networking and version model
Each platform manages and increments its own product version so a small fix on one does not force version jumps elsewhere.
The multiplayer handshake uses an identifier derived from core rules, synchronization logic, and protocol content instead of simply comparing visible application versions.
Foundations now exist for an online room directory, room-code lookup, HTTPS directory access, compatibility preflight, and dedicated servers.
Valid remote AI controllers are retained; only invalid or stale controller IDs are reassigned.
A public online service still requires real deployment, certificates, server capacity, and cross-network device validation. Client code alone does not make the service live.
Brand and copyright
Aligned NUKE HOUR naming, version footers, About pages, site address, and compatibility identifier across iOS, macOS, and Android.
Packages may include interfaces, wallpapers, icons, and rules created or licensed by the NUKE HOUR team.
Official retail game files remain separate from public packages and are imported by users from copies they legally own.
Compatibility rules are the project's independent implementation and description of gameplay behavior; they are not bundled official retail assets.
Engineering validation
40 Apple engine target tests passed.
34 Android engine target tests passed.
17 iOS resource-import contract tests passed.
Cross-platform version-mechanism tests passed: 8 in the Apple workspace and 8 in the Android workspace.
The iOS Release build completed with zero compile errors.
The Android Release build completed.
Modified YAML rules passed syntax validation.
The AI-controller correction patch replayed strictly on clean Apple and Android engine baselines.
The iOS credits-page contract patch replayed strictly on a clean engine baseline.
These figures come from separate targeted suites and must not be added together as a total project test count.
Condensed TestFlight notes
This update fixes black screens after resource import, invisible menus, unrecognized maps and audio, and AI development stopping on multiplayer maps. It also improves the iPhone and iPad import screen, license window, skirmish menu, construction bar, command bar, and multi-touch. Gameplay additions include automatic nearest-ore harvesting, control-group replacement, single-item building and defense queues, tank-bunker and naval-yard repairs, and an optional explored-area fog layer. The public IPA still contains no official retail game resources; users must import their own legally owned game files.
Release status
The current iOS / iPadOS test version is TestFlight 1.0 (Build 30).
